Heading for the border of Summerland
We're T-minus 2 regular school days plus a half day until summer vacation.
Truthfully, I've made my peace with it. Now I just have to stock up on Popsicles and water guns and hope that the mix of summer classes, sports camps, family outings and kicking around the house days is sufficient to keep us all sane.
Tuesday, I attended a work meeting that was held at a swanky office with a video conferencing set up. In my totally mature way, I wanted to get a wave going, have a parade in front of the camera, on and on. It just underscored why it is good that I work at home. In my closet. Alone.
Still, it was fun, in a pretend-grownups kind of way. I love my co-workers, and it is always great to spend actual face time with them.
With the BlogHer conference coming up in just a few weeks (well, okay, 8 1/2 weeks) I've realized that if I want to justify buying new outfits, I'm either going to have to grow 6 inches, lose some pounds, or gain some pounds.
Since growing is out, and gaining, while I'm a natural at it, is not a good idea, I guess I'm going to step up the healthy activities.
My first big idea is to get up each day at 6 am and take the dog for a walk before my husband leaves for work. I might make a kid or two go with me, depending. I could get a solid hour of exercise in!
I could.. but will I? Stay tuned to find out.
