Chaotic
Yesterday I had my annual 'Come to Jesus, er, Flylady' chat with my mom about the state of my house. One of these years, one would hope that I would wake up motivated to keep house. Anyway, it seems that I've been on a downhill slide this year, my time being consumed with other projects *cough, cough, blogging, cough* and all excuses aside, it's time for me to take a weekend and scruba-dubba-dubba 'til I just can't scrubba no more.
I'll be back with a fresh post on Monday for sure.
By the way - if there are problems with the new design, can you leave me a comment (and maybe send me a screen shot) so I can try to fix them?

Hi love the new duds. "Helping Other Parents Feel Superior, One Blog Entry At A Time. " is in black though and hard to read.

I'm using Firefox's latest and it looks good to me!

Up in your banner I see the text "Helping Other Parents Feel Superior, One Blog Entry At A Time." running right through the words "Three Kid." Also, this comment box is really really really really wide, and is scrolling sideways as I type. Weeeee!
I'm using Firefox and I'm in a Hotel, so feel free to blame it on Florida if you wish!

Ahhh Flylady. I have been receiving her emails hourly for years now and my house still looks like a hurricane moved through.
Some people just aren't meant for order and discipline. That's why we keep blogs.

Oh NO, Jenny, you have gone to the dark side of FlyLady. I
will miss you! I will remember you as you were...chaotic and
out of control. ;-)
I need FlyLady to fly her ass over here for a good cleaning
and THEN I can use her method. I just can never get it
done when the house is already a wreck. But when it is
clean, I can follow her no problem.
Good luck. I will send monkeys all day to make you smile!

Dang! I thought if you just read the Flylady emails that your house would magically transform itself.

Do you really want to know? When my comment goes more than one sentence it keeps moving over instead of looping back to the beginning. I'm getting really confused b/c I can't see the beginning of the sentence. But I am stupid. Sorry, I have to keep writing to get back to the beginning so I can preview/post. Oh,now I found a solution. If I preview it, I can type in my little box. OK, now that you've read this, delete it. I know I still need you to approve before posting. Just delete it. OK? Delete it Jenny. D-E-L-E-T-E. Can you tell I've been scrapbooking for 12 hours. I am out of my freaking mind. Delete. PLEASE!!!!

I have a ginormous comment box, too. zooooom!
Flies barf all over everything. Is that any way to be tidy? Better to just sit at the computer and make funny. Dance for us, funny girl!!
Posted by: Deana | February 25, 2006 9:32 PM
No, she actually expects you to read them and immediately jump to do her bidding.
I'm convinced it's some odd cult or subliminal messaging kinda thing. I. Am. Powerless. To. Resist.

I like the look----I agree that the "helping parents..." needs to be in white or some other color and the comment screen is totally wigging me out----I can't read what I am writing. (*edited to add* that when you do preview it goes back to normal. trippy.)
Also---I use your links to get to other sites cuz I haven't made my own bookmarks and am wishing that your link link worked.
like you've got nothing better to do.
pick a day in march. I'm coming over. We're unpacked, painted (ish) and I'm in the mood to organize.
and it's all about me, doncha know.

I know that because I am random, and I use Opera, things will be strange...
But just so you know:
1) I have no clue how to take a screen shot.
2) The ad on the side get's cut off on the Right-hand side.
i.e. it says
"You know you want to che
these legs out."
and such all the way down
3) the comment box.... if I type anywhere beyond right . there I can't ssee what I'm typing....it just types away out in the atmosphere of comment land -- so any misspellings on long sentences I take no blame for. I can't see what I"m writing.
4) Love the monkeys!
5) FlyLady. BAH! CURSES! Messy is the new black er brown ere pink er WHAT THE HELL COLOR ARE WE ON NOW?

With three kids (two teenagers and a kindergartner), I got a huge grin on my face when I saw your blog title. Love the tag line, too.
Nice blog! I'll be back for sure!
My ex-sis in law used to have a little plaque in her infant daughters room that read something like "The dusting and vacuuming and ironing will all wait until my baby grows up and leaves my house." While I'm a little weird about keeping my house relatively clean, I always got a kick out of that little sign and it's wisdom. You only have the kids around for a short while. Much better to enjoy them while you can and worry about the housework later.

The site looks beautiful! I have finally put away our girls' Snow Globes from Christmas. How embarrassing! I kept telling myself that it was still cold, and it could snow.(self-delusion and laziness)

Same here on the hard to read line about "Helping other parents feel superior..." Didn't realize it was there until Jenny said so, but now I see it going over the Three Kid Circus title.
Ditto on the comment field being too wide.
Ditto on the FlyLady lack of success. I've subscribed to her for over a year, but only look at the emails about once a week. I tried to make a control journal, but it's lost in the paper mountain that's taken over my study!
Good for you for spring cleaning! Applause, applause...

Love the new site. And boy, do I relate to the housekeeping angst. I used to be such a hausfrau. Then I started writing. Goodbye hausfrau. Hello, dust bunnies!

Phew, well I'm glad I'm not the only flylady-backslider
here. I've really let things go this past week and it is
bad.
BTW, I don't know if this has anything to do with your
website's really cool new look, but as I type this comment,
I am having to hit "return" after every line, other wise
it takes me right off the comments box and my letters show
up as lines to the side. So this comment is probably
going to look really funky.

I love the new look!
And...cleaning the house?? Isn't that what we had kids for?
The cheap labor and the foot massages.

Been there done the Flylady. She's always in puddles. I have tried it more than once and came up with my won system that borrowed some of her ideas without the guilt. My house isn't perfect, it's a bit better than it was. You can't eat off my floors but most of my dishes are clean :)
Posted by: Flummoxed | February 27, 2006 9:51 PM
I got the Flylady flurry for a while too, but never opened one email. *sigh*
re: new deisgn: I'm in Firefox and it's wonky for me: the left sidebar (starting at "Search") doesn't start untilafter this main panel content. Also, this comment box doesn't wrap early enough: it's extenind far right so that the left side of what I'm typing disappears until I hit the right margin.
I'm a designer/programmer if you need help; feel free to email. (:
Note: for kicks I widened the screen: the sidebar popped into the position on the right. I guess that's where it's supposed to be, but the CSS isn't quite anchoring it there. Hope that helps!

Everything looks just fine.

I am on that same downhill slide too!! but mine has been going on for over 10 years now.....and have only been blogging since Jan 06....I was just thinking this morning that I could really use clean sweep or someother magical show or people to show up and do some scruba scruba scruba!!!
Posted by: Lala | February 28, 2006 1:34 PM
ohhhh, I know all ABOUT the come to Jesus w/ the mother--- my mother is convinced my children are in squalor and cps will use a battering ram on the front door at any time. and it really isn't all that bad. really it isn't. well, it sorta isn't. heh.

Ooooh, Jenny........
It's Tuesday evening, almost Wednesday, and you promised a post on Monday. Are you just partying too much on this, Fat Tuesday???
Posted by: Carmen | February 28, 2006 8:10 PM
for one day (and one day only) that monkey took up my entire monitor.. and it was quite freaky!!
but now everything seems to be working just fine. except maybe in the comment area.. it's not doing line breaks and the left-hand side keeps disappearing. other than that - i like the new look!
i need to scrubba scrubba scrubba too. what sucks is that if i had a come to Jesus meeting.. it would just be me, a dog and a 2-year-old.. and somehow - i don't think they would get the point.

What is keeping house? Toddlers don't understand that! Especially mine! I'm spending the one week off I have from college spring cleaning and going to the freakin' library. How exciting am I! Why are people so obssessed with being anal! I don't hvae the time to "keep house". I'm to busy trying to "keep sanity". I like the new look. Although this comment box is a little wierd!

I think your design is great and wish all your visitors
would give me design advice, too, for my new blog that is
up for my final grade in new new media (grad school):
www.motherpie.com.
All I have to say is money and time has to be shifted
because life has different priorities for us vs. our
mothers. Dust bunnies R Our Friends. :)

I like it! Very crisp and clean. However, I can only enjoy it properly when viewing it with firefox. Otherwise, I get a very disoriented view. I'll second the freak out that comes while disappearing into the void while typing a comment. Hmmm.. I may follow in your footsteps and 86 my blogroll as well. You trend setter, you!

You go, girl! I make myself do an hour of housekeeping every day, because if I don't, all hell breaks loose. It never looks like clean like my grandmother's house, though (I don't count my mom, because she's always had a maid). I've decided our moms and especially our grandmothers have a different standard of clean because cleaning clearly was their hobby and was totally encouraged thirty and fifty years ago. And because there was no Internet.
I love your monkeys. See you Monday! :)

Ya know, I have the opposite problem. Too much cleaning, not enough other projects or living going on.Wanna trade?
