Let's Play A Game...
Okay, I've got to knuckle down and get some of my work done around here. In lieu of another story about something conniving or gross that my children have done:
I just re-read the chapter in the Sweet Potato Queens that talks about obituaries. The SPQ official thought is that you should write your own, otherwise you never know what's going to be said about you. Like, if all your nearest and dearest are too busy grieving, and they inteview your neighbor. Or your sister uses your obit as a final forum to discuss why she was superior in every way.
In my case (a taste of what's to come...I'll do a full one this evening):
Jenny was found suffocated under a mountain of laundry. Her children were running around outside, with no pants. We spoke with Mr. Smith, Jenny's neighbor of 5 years. "Well, those kids were always pantless, so we figured everything was fine. She seemed nice enough. Maybe they'll move and take that yapping mutt with them. Bark, bark, bark."
Go on, now. Write those obits and ping me so I can come read.

Dawn was found dead on the floor next to her computer. On the monitor was "Three Kid Circus." That's right, folks. She laughed herself to death. She leaves two pant-wearing but totally gormless teenaged children, a cat and, you guessed it, a barking dog. The perpetrator is still at large, last seen chasing three pantless children...and a different, but no less hysterical, barking dog.

I love the SPQ's - I am not a native southern girl, but since I now live in the South, I have adopted them as my official gurus!

We think SquareSlant is dead but no body has been found. She was last seen substituting for a Middle School math class and she left a note that said only - “There are too many of them, I am out numbered…Help!” Police suspect that the monsters…I mean the children slowly tortured SquareSlant and hid the body. They are methodically going through all lockers but it is slow going as they had to bring in HAZMAT team. So far one body has been found. It was determined not to be SquareSlant but a substitute teacher that went missing earlier this year.
