On It.
So, hello! I've resurfaced from my week of doom and gloom and self-loathing. I've kicked sugar back to the curb where it belongs (but it took me a full week to start feeling better - aaargh!) and am on day 5 of no caffeine.
This is where you all roll your eyes at me and mimic me behind my back. Seriously, when am I going to learn? Oh, wait. I did already learn this. I keep relearning it. Over and over and over. But I'm getting faster, and guess what? No backslide, despite feeling horrid all week!
So! It is Weigh-In Day, and I've got to do my official record-keeping to see where we are at with all this weight loss and exercise baloney, but I'm thinking since we've reached the end of our fourth week, we need to have a little prize. How about a $15 Amazon.com gift certificate for our BigSlicer with the most pounds lost so far? Yes?
I'm also thinking that this weekly photo business is a royal pain in the butt for a lot of you. I'm thinking that from this point forward, you can email me your weight and minutes, and we'll do the photos (officially) once a month. Unless you like doing them, in which case, bring 'em on. I'll be doing them!
Despite my clean living, I've been having trouble sleeping. Perhaps all the clean living is causing the problem. Hmm. Anyway, I've been awake since 2 am, and finally got up and did my morning yoga at 5:30. I'm renewing my determination to do daily yoga - especially in the morning. I like to stretch out before bed, too, but I really think for stress management purposes, first thing in the morning sets me up for a better day.
I've also been having shin pain, and I've determined that my shoes are woefully unsupportive of my (apparently) high arches. I'm plotting a trip to our local running specialty shoe store, where they can evaluate my foot movement, and hopefully match me up with a truly supportive shoe that will keep me pain-free. Ish. Pain-free-ish.
In other news, I've booked a trip to Yosemite for a few days in June. My kids have never been (a travesty, living in California as we do) and my husband has never stayed in the valley. I've got big plans for scenic hikes, maybe a horseback riding excursion with my oldest, throwing rocks into the river, climbing on boulders and taking a gazillion pictures of my little family.
This means I need to really step up my walking, adding hills to my route and bringing the kids along for conditioning hikes. I really want this to be a wonderful experience, and that means NO WHINING on the trails. At least, no whining by people other than me.
Get your weights in. I'll announce the prize winner on Wednesday.

As usual, I am failing miserably. Should I just accept that fact that I weigh 173 and move on? I don't know.

I also am floundering and flailing and, well, just plain failing. I weighed in at 218 this morning (and only 90 minutes of exercise to report).
Some days I have oodles of motivation and discipline oozing out of me. Other days (most days lately) not so much. That said, this is a NEW week and I am right on track. I blame the weather. Ok. And, myself.

Still 222, but I didn't exercise at all this week. Because I got my period. I guess I could count the 5 minute dance of joy I did upon discovering I was not pregnant.

Hi,
I didn't send a photo of my weight last week...I can never find the camera and the camera cord at the same time. Obviously I am a very organized person. Anyway I made it down to 172 all last week and ate like a hog all weekend and this morning was 173.5.
But it's monday and I'm back on track. I excercised about 4 hours last week.

I got the Yoga DVD in the mail today! Thanks! I'll report back when I've had a chance to do at least one of the workouts.

I'm not at home, so I have no scale, so, oops. I'll check in either next week or when I get home. Or something.

Weighed in at 123lbs. I'm working harder at trying to get 5 hours of exercise in. I've started getting up before the sun so I can have the den to myself for yoga.

167.8. I'm down half a pound despite a rocky weekend and I'm off sugar. I logged in about 3.5 hours of exercise last week, including one four mile run (whoo-hoo! I mean ouch...) and one 40 minute bike ride to work. Feeling better after only 3 days of sugar detox.
