Undertow
This has been one of those weeks.
I think I'm fighting a virus of some sort - I feel very run-down and lethargic, and even mild exercise causes me to become winded. The kids, of course, are feeling their oats, and have been bucking and kicking all over the place, all week long. Add in a business trip for my husband, and assorted household chores that just couldn't wait, and you get a very quiet BigSlice.
I stepped on the scale (moments ago! This is all very LIVE ACTION!) and I'm back at 168. I can't work up any excitement over the scale at the moment. I will tell you that my arms, while still about the same size, actually have a little bit of muscle definition. I think for a truly big difference, I'm simply going to have to get rid of these pounds.
Oh, by the way... dancing to ABBA while doing dishes is awesome. Thanks, Julie!

Hah! So glad I could help! After I posted that I remembered that the Jackson 5's greatest hits works well, too (...easy as 1-2-3...).
I am proud to report that after months of hit and miss, I now have five days in a row of logging everything into fitday.com, thanks to the kick in the arse I received via your post from last Friday.
And also?
This morning at work there were doughnuts, scones (big, fat ones with FROSTING) AND some kind of fancy bagels from Panera that everyone was raving about. And I did not touch a single one of any of them. Because I rule.
There is also Halloween candy all over the freakin' place, and I did indulge in a single Laffy Taffy rope after lunch, but I already logged it (80 calories).

You're awesome! So glad you always paint the honest side of weight loss! Glad the Abba and dancing is working out! I dance daily all over the house, and my kids and I dance every morning before school. I call it our "happy feet" exercise which improves both mind and body! =)

You're doing great, no matter what the scale says at the moment.
Just wanted to ask, do you have a favorite source for recipes? A particular cookbook or web site? I'm always impressed with your weekly menus--mainly because I don't know how to cook very many things. I really need some nutritious recipes that are relatively simple to make and taste good. (The last time I made a quiche, it was delish but so fattening.) My goal for 2007 is to cook more dinners for my family. We eat out way to much and I have the ass to prove it.

Feel better soon!!!! That's the worst.
I would like to add KC & the Sunshine Band to your "dancing" music. :D
HUGS!
