Arms Update

I'm still sticking to my arm exercise routine, and while I'm not exactly buffed, I'm starting to see the outlines of muscles if I look really hard!  Wooo!

I also can report that I am feeling stronger, and am able to complete my three sets of each exercise with energy to spare... so I'm going to up the amount of weight I am lifting, and really pay attention to slowing down and getting the most out of each rep.

My weight loss has stalled out, again.  I'm hovering at 172 pounds.  Could this be a lingering result of my chocolate spree?  I can't say for sure. 

Here's the plan - More water.  More aerobic exercise (personal goal: 1 hr, 15 min) and more awareness.  I haven't been journaling my daily food, but I suspect that I'm indulging above and beyond what I'm aware of eating.  I am also planning a follow up doctor's visit, to rule out any physical impediment from losing weight.

And above all, I'm going to get back to having fun.  There has been a lack of hilarity in this house the last few weeks.  So, I could use some suggestions for activities that will get my heart-rate up, and put a smile on my face.

Firstly, would like to say how much I enjoy reading your blog and secondly for aerobic exercise and putting a smile on your dial - Dance!
We like to pump up the stereo and dance with our boys and today at school my girls threw me a surprise party so I got some extra dancing in!

You go, girl! You'll be buff and toned in no time. You really are my inspiration. You make me want to work out. I *heart* you!!!!! I hope your new weight lifting and aerobic will be a new challenge and reward for you.

I don't know if you've addressed this before, but have you ever tried putting ABBA Gold in the CD player and disco dancing around the kitchen while you do the dishes? Excellent cardio, that. And you might even get the kids to help.

I second the ABBA suggestion! Good one! I was just blogging the other day about adding some "goofiness" to my aerobics routine.

Also? Remember the macarena?? That'd get ya laughin'....At how STUPID it is! Good times.

Uh, run away from home as fast as you can? That ought to get your heart rate up. ;)

Given your time with the tots, and the upcoming holiday...buy some pumpkins (or mini gourds for your little one) and have a relay race, or hop over them, dance around them, or play hot potatoe with them! Hope this helps! Have fun!

Try kickboxing or regular boxing; it gets out your frustations and burns calories like crazy.
