Alright, 'Fess Up.
Month of Motivation - Week Two!
How did everyone do with the short-term goals you set for yourself last week? Let's hear it!
As for me...
*hanging my head in shame*
I totally, totally blew it. Instead of following my menu plan and my workout schedule, I ate not one but two fast food hamburgers on Saturday, skipped breakfast both days, and in general, snacked my way through the weekend.
I did, however, go for a 5-mile power walk on Saturday morning, and spent Sunday rearranging furniture. My limbs are pleasantly sore today, so I know I got a good workout.
So, what happened over here? I'll be blunt. I got my period. I didn't plan ahead for comfort foods that would be appealing to me, and not blow my healthy eating. It happens every month - I have two or three days that are just awful, appetite-wise. Lesson learned - plan for even smaller meals, more frequently on those couple of days, to ward off the snacking.
The good news is that despite the bloating, which normally sends my weight up a full three or four pounds - I'm currently exactly the same as I was on Friday - 176.8 pounds. I'll have to check at the end of the week and see if the numbers have budged.
By the way, is it REALLY necessary for my scale to report that extra .8 pound? Really? Because I would be happy if it just rounded up or down. Preferably down.
I'm due for a filler grocery run, and a new menu. I"ll be back later this afternoon with my menu and shopping list for this week. The goal this week is to economize while still getting a balanced variety of foods.

yay on the power walk!
My husband turns 30 this month, and has launched a new diet plan for us.
I'm a sucker for a challenge. ;-)

I've lost another pound this week.
And I've walked... hmmm... not enough. About 12 miles all told.
I am having trouble remembering to eat breakfast (and then I eat too much at lunch). Hmph.
Get back on that wagon, Jenny! RAH RAH! :D

Weekends are hard. Being premenstrual is hard. You were dealing with both at the same time yet you managed a power walk and maintained your weight. That's tremendous!
I failed completely at my "Curly Girl" challenge. All the ugly details, including ugly pictures, are on my new blog:

I have lost 4 pounds since the start of the challenge, so I'm not complaining.

I've had company all weekend - my Dad was visiting - so I didn't do much in the way of exercise. I did during the week, though. I've not been on a scale recently. I'm saving THAT pleasure for Thursday.
At least the number didn't go up. A horizontal victory is still a victory.

I've done really well with the walking - 30 to 60 minutes every day I don't go to the gym. Every day but today, actually. Oops. Next: rein in the snack foods.

I am keeping up with the walking, and I went to a local gym this morning one a one-week-trial special. I did most of the machines, and I should be too sore to raise my arms tomorrow. They also have a sauna, and I'm planning to use that tomorrow for a little detox.
Also, I have given up Diet Coke. I drink (drank) tons of the stuff, and I know that the Nutrasweet is not good for me. THIS IS HARD!!!!

How funny! We're almost on the same cycle! (I just wrote about PMS last night.)
