Worst Dressed List
Let me tell you something. There is nothing like carefully planning out coordinated outfits for three children, and wrangling a screeching monkey of a three-year-old until her hair is french-braided, and packing a backpack with everything from an extra outfit for each child (coordinated) and sunblock in three formulas, to extra ziplock baggies and a Tide stain remover pen (LOVE!) only to walk out the front door into torrential rain.
We're not talking little girlie rain, people. We're talking soaked to the skin before you can get the damn key in the damn lock on the damn rental mini-van door.
Ahem.
But seriously, cute kids, still cute, but the coordination-effect is entirely wasted when you have them wearing a glorified garbage bag. Plastic ponchos. Our ticket to the worst dressed family list.
We've been tackling theme park after theme park, with mixed results. I'm finding that I'm apparently not as big of a trooper as I thought, because the little things are really starting to bug me. You know, like the freakishly heavy rain that comes out of nowhere. And my children. Hoo-boy. Those little things are totally annoying me.
I am however, still enjoying the chips and the margaritas. Those are still good. Also, the lack of schedule is working for me.
Speaking of schedule - my shin splints are gone within a few hours of my pathetic run-walk-run action, but in honor of all of your concerned comments, I stretched out well this morning, and then totally bailed on my scheduled run. (You see how I made that all about you guys? I could have owned up to the fact that I just slept in too late, but no. I was doing it FOR YOU, Big Slice Readers. You are so welcome!)
Rain or shine, wind or whatever else Florida wants to throw at me, I'm going out in the morning for a 1.75 mile something. Maybe the world's slowest jog. Maybe just a fast walk. Probably a bit of both.
Oh! And I had the yummiest Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby at the Disney-MGM park... I'm going to try to replicate it for one of my dishes next week.
How are all of y'all doing? Working out? Eating well? Catch me up on your fine selves!

Hey! Still losing weight over here at "The Shrinking Mom." ;)
Down to 202, for a total loss of 24.4 pounds. So far.
Not that I'm bragging. ;)
Have fun in the torrential downpour!

She rests! She stretches! She eats salads!
Bow down to the Big Slice, ClubMom. Bow down.

Margaritas! Yummy!
3 lbs lost so far! Mr. Cheeks' baptism is next weekend and I have a new dress to fit into, so I'm working extra hard.

Wow, sounds like your vacation is going well...
I had a fruit smoothie for breakfast this morning, AND went swimming for an hour and a half yesterday. No floatie toy mishaps, though. :-)

Still pregnant. But totally inspired and can't wait to join the pound shedding extravaganza!

Things always seem worse in the rain. But it only means the sun is on its way. I lived on the road for the first two years of my sons life and just now a scedule is appearing. Its nice. Time for this time for that time for bed! Never coordiante I let my two year old pick out his clothes so its a great excuse. He picked it out don't blame me if his favorte color is pink. I will remember that when he is a senior and graduating (blackmail). He wants a pink barbie Jeep for his third birthday. He, he. I have a lot of beef to tell his girl friends I think its great. Max also likes to pee in the back yard on our fence (I take pics). Life is good.

I'm doing the same diet as "The Amazing Shrinking Mom". I started last week and have lost 2.5 pounds. Which seems frustratingly slow, but is better than not losing at all.
I think I can have Cobb Salad if I make some modifications, so I'll look for the recipe. yum!

Found you recently and have been reading for the last few days. Sounds like you're having fun--for the most part.
I fell off the weight loss wagon, but I have picked myself up, dusted my rather large booty off, and climbed right back on. Sometimes the ride is bumpy and I have to hang on for dear life to not get thrown out again.

Oh, boy. You are funny! Love the vacation description. Still working on the whole "vacation" concept over here. Sigh.

While I am not officially in the "diet" camp, I am in the "I'm-going-to-try-to-exercise-and-jumpstart-my-metabolism-so-that-I-can-still-eat" camp. I have been walking about 45 mins a day, and doing yoga or hip hop (with my 10 year old daughter, don't laugh) about 4 times a week. Although I don't think I've lost any weight, I think I am getting a bit more toned than I have been in a while. (Of course, having SCALES might be beneficial if I want to know about the weight-loss thing. They are on my Target list, I swear.)

If by "eating well," you mean "eating constantly," then yeah. I've got that one taken care of.
Love reading your adventures. Get home safely.
