Oh yeah, we just had school portraits yesterday. Here, it was pouring rain all day, and so everyone's hair was mashed flat, or frizzy and wild.
The outfits looked nice at home, but in the photo, who knows if my son's shirt will still be tucked in, or he will stop squinting long enough to fake a smile? He hates bright lights, can't tolerate a flash. The girls lately have been doing the frozen simper thing for me at home, and won't keep their hair bands and pony tails in neatly, so who knows what the photographer will get?
Our church is doing portraits for the new directory this fall, so we get to go through it all over again in a couple of weeks, with us parents as well. Ugh.
And if any of them do turn out nicely, then there is the discussion (argument) with my husband over how many prints to order. Not fun!
Yet, I always wish we had more good pictures of the kids, at every age and every stage. So we keep on trying.

Once again, I am laughing. Thanks for your hilariously funny look at life.

That was so true and the reason that we no longer do school pictures around here. We gave up on them two years ago and the kids and I are much happier for it.

Thanks for the chuckle, I just dread school pictures each year but what are you gonna do? I was ranting myself this week. Linking to you--
